Battery Management and Replacement
By default all battery powered devices are set up with low and critical battery alerts.
These will be sent to the specified users when the device reports a low or critical battery.
It is recommended that as soon as a device reports a low battery that they are replaced, by the time a device reports critical battery the device may no longer track locations.
The live screen will also display an assets battery status in the asset list as well as in the assets information bubble.
Replacing the batteries in a device is simple, just remove the six screws from the back of the device and then remove the batteries. Make sure the device has batteries removed for at least one minute to allow a full discharge so the device properly resets. Make sure that the batteries are facing the outside of the device as per photos below.
Please make sure to replace the batteries with Energizer Lithium of the required size (https://bit.ly/43wRbmJ). Standard batteries will not provide the full performance or life that Lithium batteries do.
Once new batteries are installed the device will reset its battery status on the platform.
