Reports
Telematics Guru has an extensive reporting suite, with reports available for most situations.
Most of the reports are run in a similar manner and can be filtered, customised and scheduled.
As an example a trip list report will be run. This report shows all trips over a specific date range.
In this example the report has been filtered to show trips by Amarok 2 over a weeks period, that were driven by Nick, on a weekday between 8.30 am and 5.30pm.
If we preview the report we can see the results quickly without having to download anything.
We can see in the preview the default data that is returned. Sometimes we may not need all of this data, so to clean the report up we can customise it to remove unnecessary data.
At the top of the page under advanced options we can choose to customise the report.
First we need to give the custom report a name and choose its output format.
Next we need to choose what data we want to see in the report. The data will be output in order from top to bottom from the selected columns.
Next we need to choose any column totals that we want to see.
Next we need to choose how the data is grouped, this can be left blank if we just want to see a list without column totals in between.
Next we need to choose the sort order of the data. We can change the sort order from ascending to descending using the button on the sort by value.
Now when finished we can run the report to see the customised output.
Now we can see the trips ground by each day and the totals for that day but also the totals for the whole report.
If you need to make changes to the report it can be found on the custom reports page, which can be accessed from the reports drop down menu. To access the report in the future just find the base report on the reports page and the custom report will be shown once it has been clicked.
If you need a report on a regular basis it could be easier to schedule the report to be automatically sent. On the main page of the report, under the advanced tab you can select schedule report. Once this has been done the create scheduled report dialog box will appear. The report type and custom report are automatically pre filled.
Now we need to filter the report data as we want to see it. The date range can be set based of when the report is run or start/end of the previous week/month.
Once you have filtered the data at the top of the page, switch to the general tab. Here we can name the scheduled report and fill in the email subject and body.
Next switch to the schedule tab. Here we set when the report is sent.
Next switch to the recipients tab. Here we can choose who the report is sent to.
Then click save. Now the report will be sent automatically on the next scheduled date. Again if the scheduled report needs to be edited this can be done from the scheduled reports page which is found under the reports drop down menu.
